I received prompt assistance from Psychiatry UK, starting from assessment to treatment, and was assigned an efficient mental health nurse for titration. However, the organisational emphasis on patient conformity over patient-centered care created a sense of pressure and fear, especially for myself with ADHD struggling with experiencing organisation and memory issues. The service seems standardised rather than tailored to individual needs, possibly due to operational pressures, despite the commendable efforts of my mental health nurse. There is a feeling of the service pushing for quick discharge. For anyone reading, please do take your time during the process and advocate for yourself and your needs to ensure best possible outcomes for yourself.

My experience as a RTC patient for Adult ADHD assesment was fantastic. My psychiatrist Dr Lucy Watkin did a thorough assessment - I felt she listened to my challenges and explored my history to work towards a formal diagnosis - she also gave me and indication I should also consider assesment for ASC which I agree with and I am following up with PUK/RTC. I then went through the process of titration with my prescriber Ryan Kirkbride to work up to a dose of medication that provided an improvement to my condition and has really started to help me on a day to day basis with minimal side effects. Throughout my experience with PUKl, the assesment, the diagnosis, the titration and the support to get to where I need to be I felt listend to , cared for and that my thoughts, feelings and experience were responded to with the utmost care to get to the right answer for me. Everyone is different in their needs and PUK demonstrated that they understood this and cared about the result for the patient and the experience to meet those differing needs. I can't recommend them enough - they've given me a new way to approach my condition and a way to make positive change and manage the day to day. I wish I had gone through the process sooner. I've recommended them to family and friends due to the great level of care and attention where those family and friends may need help that PUK can provide. Hugely thankful to the team at PUK.

Apart from the wait between diagnosis and titration, which was hell, having no one to turn to or anyone to help (mental health services said they couldn't help) I had a positive experience. I was really lucky to have the best prescriber, Mike. Such a lovely, caring person. , nothing was too much trouble and I always had quick replies. I am gutted titration ended and there's no way to reply to the last message and say thank you. So if you see this Mike, thank you so much for everything, psychiatry uk are lucky to have you. I hope you have an amazing Christmas

I had Dr Uddin who continually words in my mouth to fit a preconceived diagnostic criteria he had in mind. He did not listen to what i was trying to communicate and made assumptions, stating them as facts and saying ‘i’m a consultant’ If i disagreed with subjective information about myself… Terrible ‘treatment’. A complete waste of money.

Hello Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. All patient feedback, good or bad, is extremely valuable to us and is shared internally amongst the relevant teams. Your rating scores show that you were happy overall with our service, but are not so positive in the safety category. This is something we would really like to explore further with you and I wonder whether you would consider contacting our Patient Experience Team at: experience@psychiatry-uk.com to talk through any issues you have had. It's impossible to rate the overall service highly because of the titration system with the nurses being so overwrought. Any contact with a doctor whilst trying medications would have made this 5 stars I'm sure but zero contact with a doctor during titration felt like this service shouldn't exist in this form given the serious nature of these drugs. I know this is the only real access that many people have to an ADHD diagnosis at the moment so you're essentially stuck with this or paying thousands but I just don't think a physical health condition would ever be allowed to be treated in this way. I was told that my titration was ending without any warning and things that came up in my final meeting with the doctor that would have helped my experience whilst taking the meds were never brought up (probably because of no access to a doctor) whilst titrating.

At first we were a bit sceptical about obtaining an ADHD diagnosis for our son online (via Zoom) and then ongoing treatment, but to be honest everything has gone exceptionally well…from our initial online meetings, to liaising with our prescriber and choosing the right medication etc. We feel we’ve received a great service all round, and been able to communicate online via notes and get a quick response has been especially useful. We have felt totally supported by Psychiatry UK and I would definitely recommend to others in a similar situation.
